Do you believe?
I have never been more frightened than when i experienced an encounter with a ghost. Most people in the world do not believe in ghost because various of reasons. But, I am a strong believer in ghost, so let me tell you about my experience. I was about eight years old, waking up scared to death because there was an old man and a little boy in my closet reaching out for my help!! Running scared out of my mind to my parents bedroom, hoping they would be able to help me. When i wake up my parents, my mom just hugs me and says that its a bad dream and to go back to sleep. So the "bad" dream never happened after that. So when i was about 15 my mom told me this story, then she adds the same exact thing happened to her at the age it did me. That these ghost would frequently show up asking repeatedly for her help. Now, we never understood why these people only showed up asking for my mom and I's help, when i have two older sisters and they never had this happen to them. This must be some type of sign and well all of you who don't believe in ghost, I sound pretty crazy. But when something like this happens in your life you don't stop thinking about it and you never know why it happens.

Saunders, "My Writing Education"
In the article "My Writing Education" Saunders keeps a focus on kindness by focusing on what he needed to do and how to treat everyone around him, Doug is expressing a lot of kindness in this article, he does it in a way to where Saunders looks up to him in many different ways. One example is when Saunder's wife was having their baby at only 4 months old! Saunders worked so hard because he did not want Doug to think he wasn't being the best student he could be. So he then was working so hard to stay on track in school, Doug then told him to slow down and focus on what is going to be around forever, which was his wife and child. To me this kind of kindness that Doug is preforming is through the roof! Usually professors don't engage in your personal life, but with him it shows he actually cares and understand the circumstances. This kind of action probably meant the world to Saunders only because he admires Doug so much not even just as a writer but as a person too.

No lie is a good lie!!
In the beginning of "Lying as Americas Pastime" stated that everyone lies, doesn't matter who you are; everyone lies. With lying comes with how small/how big the lie can be. Also nothing good comes from an intentional lie. Some people would ask why? Well simply because telling a lie doesn't help any situation. Some say lying is a good thing because you're "protecting" a person from hurting but really thats just a selfish move. Some may say since an intentional lie isn't that big of a deal that you could live your life always telling little lies here and there, but what happens once they catch up to you? What happens when theres nothing else you can think of but the truth? Or even what happens when you get caught?
Lets take cheating in a marriage as an example. The man comes home late from work and claims to his wife that "he was working late at work", yet while she is doing laundry his tie is missing and theres red marks around the neck of the shirt. She immediately asks her husband where his tie has gone and what this red stuff was, he then tells his wife "You know ties always bother me so i always just take it off in the office, that red stuff?! Thats just because a red marker decided to act up and attacked my shirt, honey!" Of course she isn't going to think too deep into her husbands weird actions. But, about a month later the signs just help happening and happening and finally the wife comes home early, like 3 days early to surprise him and there he was with his mistress.
All the lies and excuses eventually add up, so in the end the one being lied too is the one hurting. No matter the size of the lie or the reason for the lie, I feel as if it's never worth it. You can always tell the truth because an intentional lie is never a good thing.

The Pope
While reading the Pope's speech the way he mentions immigration stood out to me. The Pope brings immigration to attention by stating "We the people of this continent, are not fearful of foreigners, because most of us were once foreigners." This is to the understanding that he wants U.S. Americans to be more welcoming to foreigners because we were all once foreigners. He all wants us to be able to stop the way we've been treating immigrants in America and for us to become new again in the sense that everyone should be treated with respect and open arms.
Also, It was not fully brought up into topic, but the way the Pope talks about marriage and family, stood out to me, As he talks about family he states "I can only reiterate the importance and, above all, the richness and the beauty of family life". The pope knows marriage is between a man and a woman, with our new law comes encounter on how we should protect those families. Same-sex marriage is NOT wrong, but in the eyes of very religious humans they may not think the same.
Steve Hendrix of The Washington Post agrees with the Pope's comments on immigration. He starts by bringing it up as stating 'America's leaders to accept those born in other countries as their own children, urging lawmakers to set aside political differences and embrace people who "travel north in search of a better life. "" The way he connects with the Pope is reassuring especially for the immigrants, but then also for them to feel welcomed and accepted into our country.

Michael Jackson !!
Michael Jackson was born August 29th, 1958. If we were to ad 15 years to 1958, we end up in 1973. Not too much happened around then, besides his solo career was getting started in 1971. Now, if you didn't know exactly who/what Michael Jackson did, he was an amazing American singer, songwriter, recored producer, dancer and actor. Michael Jackson was the King of Pop!! Starting in the 1980's, Jackson became a dominant figure in pop music. With his big hit "Thriller" and "Beat it", that helped bring MTV to fame. With all his success it brought him to be well known and for the whole world to know who he was. Michael Jackson, grew up and was born in Gary, Indiana also was the 8th child out of 10. The house he grew up in was a two bedroom two bathroom. With growing up with so many siblings and with no room, that was probably a reason he wanted to make a name for himself. Gary, Indiana was an industrial city and part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Mainly, another reason it was easy to live in that area is, it is where historic native americans have inhabited Indiana for thousands of years. I think a pivotal moment in his life would be becoming famous in Jackson 5, and realizing he can really make himself into something and decided to go solo. Michael Jackson did a whole awful lot in his lifetime, not just for himself but for America too. Also, here i put the music video to very popular song "Thriller"!

School so far has been very very different from high school. With it already being the third week into the semester, homework just keeps piling up. Parking on campus is worse than a NFL game or a Taylor Swift concert. If you ever want to be on time you might want to arrive an hour before your class or else, you'll never make it. The most exciting part about school is getting the chance to meet new people. My whole life I have grown up with the same people, always hung out with them, did homework and school projects with them. So moving down here and getting into a new environment is exciting. But, the past month all my time goes towards homework, doing laundry, buying groceries and bonding with my roommate. With not having the most open schedule it seems impossible for myself and my roommate to keep our apartment organized. Now, with that being said my roommate and I get along very well, which makes living away from home a lot easier. Therefore, being in college is an honor because my grandmother who passed, always wanted my sisters and myself to go to college. My grandmother always wanted for me to be successful, so this semester and the next couple years are very special to me to do well in college and have a great experience.
