The Pope

While reading the Pope's speech the way he mentions immigration stood out to me. The Pope brings immigration to attention by stating "We the people of this continent, are not fearful of foreigners, because most of us were once foreigners." This is to the understanding that he wants U.S. Americans to be more welcoming to foreigners because we were all once foreigners. He all wants us to be able to stop the way we've been treating immigrants in America and for us to become new again in the sense that everyone should be treated with respect and open arms.
Also, It was not fully brought up into topic, but the way the Pope talks about marriage and family, stood out to me, As he talks about family he states "I can only reiterate the importance and, above all, the richness and the beauty of family life". The pope knows marriage is between a man and a woman, with our new law comes encounter on how we should protect those families. Same-sex marriage is NOT wrong, but in the eyes of very religious humans they may not think the same.
Steve Hendrix of The Washington Post agrees with the Pope's comments on immigration. He starts by bringing it up as stating 'America's leaders to accept those born in other countries as their own children, urging lawmakers to set aside political differences and embrace people who "travel north in search of a better life. "" The way he connects with the Pope is reassuring especially for the immigrants, but then also for them to feel welcomed and accepted into our country.
